Straighten Your Smile Invisibly with Invisalign

A straight smile is a must have in today’s society. If you are suffering from crooked, gapped or misaligned teeth, Palmetto Smiles Dental offers a discreet and fast way to perfect the alignment of your teeth with Invisalign.

What is it?

invisalign is a revolutionary tooth alignment system that offers fast results and straightens your teeth virtually invisibly! The system uses clear, plastic aligners that are worn over each arch. The aligners are customized to your teeth and are switched out every two weeks for continual movement of your teeth. With each new aligner, your teeth move closer to perfect alignment. The best part about the Invisalign process is that no one will even know that you are straightening your teeth!

Am I a candidate?

In order to truly know if you are a candidate for this system, visit us for a consultation with Dr. James. While other factors can determine whether you are a good candidate, here are some of the common problems that Invisalign can correct:

  • Gaps between teeth
  • Overbites
  • Underbite
  • Overly crowded teeth
  • Open bite
  • Crossbite

The Invisalign Process

First, you must undergo a consultation with Dr. James. He will examine your oral structures and oral health to ensure that you are a candidate for this procedure. Then, he will take molds of your teeth. These molds will be sent to the lab where your customized Invisalign aligners will be created. An entire series of aligners are made so that your teeth are continually shifting into correct alignment.

Once we receive your aligners, you can pop in the first aligner and begin the process. You will wear your aligners for up to 20 to 22 hours a day. However, the aligners are removable and you can remove them to brush and floss your teeth and to eat and drink. You are encouraged to wear the aligners while you sleep.

Once every two weeks, you will switch out aligners until you have gone through all the aligners given to you. You will also periodically come to our office for quick check ups so that Dr. James can monitor your progress. At the end of the treatment you can enjoy a perfect, straight smile!
